The presented line graph shows the statistics regarding the number of enquiries submitted to a city’s Tourist Information Office through three means of communication over a six-month period in 2011.
Overall, the number of enquiries sent by letter or email experienced a decrease, while a substantial rise in enquiries was recorded in person and by telephone.
As shown in the graph, only over 400 enquiries were sent in person during January.
This number increased by 200 each month in the next two months, reaching 800 in March before skyrocketing and arriving at 1900 enquiries in June. On the other hand, despite being at a higher starting point of almost 800 enquiries in January, the volume of letter or email enquiries fell to below 400 in the last month of the period.
Telephone was the most popular method for enquiry submission in January with almost 1000. However, this method then saw a slight drop in popularity in the next month to 800 enquiries. This figure then increased slightly to 1000 and remained constant in March and April. For the last two months of the period, enquiries sent more by telephone, reaching 1600 in June.
