Overall, it is clear that female participants showed significant uptrend, while male participants showed linear uptrend over the years.
Female participants was around 300 when the Olympics started in 1924. However, male participants was 1200 more than that of female participants in the same year. Over the next 2 decades the male attendees saw remarkable uptrend to around 2500 members, while the female participants increased gradually. From year 1924 to 2004 rose linearly and reached its peak which was just above 6000 participants.
However, for female participants its was not the same, participants numbers rose steadily till 1984 and reached around 2000 participants and skyrocketed to nearly 6000 participants in year 2004.
Notably, there was marginal growth for both genders documented at less than 4,000 to roughly 6,000 in the first 60 years, followed by a significant increase, approaching 10,000 participants, after which it hit the highest point.
