Overall, it is evident from the data that the most preferable source was through website showing no declines over the period. While printed version of news showed a downward trend.
Focusing on huge numbers, in 2012 the percentage of people who received news via website accounted for 78 percent and increased to 80 percent in the following year. Watching news through tv was the second ‘favoured source reached to 75 percent. In 2013, this percentage increased to 78 percent from 75 percent. Both social media and newspapers had a smaller portion. However, printed version had a high percentage about 38 percent while social media accounted for 20 percent in 2012. In 2013, both social media and newspapers increased significantly by 10 percent.
In 2014, tv and printed version of news experienced decrease in numbers while website and social media increased in numbers. In contrast, the number of people who accessed news via newspapers or tv dropped dramatically. Meanwhile, the percentage of website users increased to 85 percent and social media users accounted for 40 percent in 2015.
