The share of cities citizens in the USA was at 70% in 1970, followed by a gradual increase to shy of 90% in 2010 and is expected to increase slightly to peak at 90% at the end of the period.. Similar changes, but to a greater extent was observed in the figure for Korea, which was 40% initially, after which it experienced a substantial growth to approximately 85% in 2010 and is anticipated to increase slightly to reach 90%, being equal to the USA’s figure in 2030.
20% of urbans habitants were witnessed in China and India in 1970, while the figure for China levelled off until 1990, that of India has risen steadily and is expected to reach under 40% in 2030. Percentage of population in cities of Chinese climbed up and surpassed the that of India in the mid 1990s, before being demonstrated to end the period at above 65%.
