The line graph illustrates how many people in the USA used Twitter from November 2010 to May 2013, divided into four age groups.
Overall, more people in almost all age groups started using Twitter over these years. The youngest group (18-29) was always the most popular for Twitter, while people over 65 used it the least.
In November 2010, about 14% of young people aged 18-29 used Twitter. This number grew quickly and reached a peak of more than 30% in late 2012. By May 2013, it stayed around 30%. The group of people aged 30-49 also showed growth. Their usage started at 7% and rose to about 17% by the end of the period.
For the older groups, the numbers were much lower. For people aged 50-64, the percentage increased slowly from 6% to 13%. The oldest group (65+) showed very little change; their percentage stayed almost under 5% during the whole period. In conclusion, younger Americans were much more likely to use Twitter than older generations.
