Overall, it can be seen that all countries faced an upward trend over a 10-year period. Additionally, Canada accounted for the highest proportion of online users, whereas Mexico had the lowest percentage compared to the USA and Mexico throughout the period.
Moving to a more detailed analysis, at the beginning of the period, while the USA stood up at just over 25%, the figures of Canada and Mexico were around 10% and 5% respectively. There was seen a slight increase in the proportions of all countries in 2001. However, Canada’s figure surpassed the proportion of the USA in 2002 by approximately 8%; meanwhile the USA faced a minimal decrease in the proportion of online users from 2001 to 2003.
Afterwards, the percentage of online users was roughly at 70% in the USA and Canada; meanwhile Mexico proportion reached to around 25% in 2005. It is worth noting that, Canada’s proportion exceeded the USA’s figure again by approximately 30% between 2005 and 2009. Furthermore, Mexico’s figure continued to grow gradually, reaching to roughly 40% in 2009.
