The line graph illustrates the number of players going in for 4 different types of sports in a specific region during a 20-year period.
Overall, it is noteworthy that while the number of tennis players followed an upward trend, the figure for rugby witnessed a remarkable decrease.
Additionally, the number of people who took part in/ the figure for badminton and basketball showed little difference.
In the first 10 years of the period, rugby was the most-played sport among the 4 sports, starting at about 245 players. It followed a downward trend to 200 in 1995 before being overtaken the top position by the figure for tennis. After that, it continued to decrease dramatically to 50 at the end of the period. In contrast, the number of people taking part in tennis had followed an opposite trend during the whole period, starting at 150 and ending at about 220 in 2005.
As can be seen from the line graph, the number of people playing basketball and badminton both remained steady; however, the figure for basketball was on a higher level than that of badminton. The number of people taking part in badminton and basketball started at around 55 and 75 respectively during the whole period apart from a slight reduction from 1985 to 1995.
