Overall, it is evident that the principal relied source of transportation was by foot in 1959, while people used car as a highest relied transportation in 2009. Here, other sources of transports witnessed the lowest percentages of these years in the given time period.
Looking at the details, in 1959, foot was the highest source with 55%. However, people consumed bus as a second highest way of transport at 15%, which was decreased only 2% from 15% to 13%. Surprisingly, the proportions for train was remained constant in these time periods.
In contrast, the portions for car was just 10% in 1959, while the figures dramatically rose to more than one third in 2009. To sum up, in 1959 European people walked a lot, as in 2009 the ratio of walking had declined to more than half.
