The line graph illustrates the amount of jobs in four different sectors – manifacturing, agriculture, retail, and healthcare – of the economy in the US over a sixty years period from 1960 to 2020.
Overall, the number of jobs in retail and healthcare sectors were increasing steadily in the same pattern, while level of jobs in other 2 sectors – manifacturing and agriculture were decreasing throughout the period.
The amount of jobs in manifacturing sector was 15 million in 1960, which moderately hitted the highest point of 20 million job in 1980. After the massive increase it fell dramatically to just below 15 million. While, the number of jobs in healthcare sector, which was the lowest in number at the beginning with around 3 million jobs grew up steadily during sixty years, and became the highest with just over 15 million in 2020.
In 1960, the amount of jobs in retail and agriculture sectors was same with more than 5 million. However, it chances differently over years. The number of work places in retail sector increased steadily over a 40 year period and then slightly grew to just over 15 million in 2020, which is same with the number jobs in healthcare sector. But, the amount of jobs in retail sector fell gradually over the next 60 years, and hit the lowest point at the end of the period
