The line graph illustrates the changes in overseas tourists in millions, in three countries from 1990 to 2020.
Overall, the numbers of tourists in the given countries adhered to rising trends, albeit to varying degrees. Throughout the period, France generally had higher tourists remaining the most visited destination, followed by Spain, Japan remained at the bottom.
Looking at the details, tourist numbers in France started at about 45 million in 1990 and experienced a steady increase, reaching approximately 60 million by 2005. Despite some fluctuations, the figure skyrocketed and peaked at about 80 million in the final year. Similarly, tourism to Spain also showed an upward trajectory. Starting from a 30 million in 1990, it climbed steadily to roughly 50 million by 2005 and continued this growth, finishing the period at approximately 70 million visitors.
Japan, however, somewhat bucked the trend. Starting at 40 million, the figures in this country followed an increase before experiencing the downward trajectory in 2005. After which it significantly dropped in two decades.
