First, in 1982, China produced 2 million barrels of oil per day. However, this changed in 1986 when the number of litres increased to 3 million daily. From that year, the amount of oil produced stayed constant until 1994 then slightly rose to about 3.5 million in 2006.
Secondly, the use of oil in China started with low numbers with an average of 2 total between 1982 and 1990. This was not the same in 1994 when oil consumption experienced a jump every 2 years reaching its highest growth in 2006 with a record of over 6 million barrels used a day.
