Overall, The proportion of butter that consumed was dramatically decreased from 1986 to 2007. Low fat and reduced spreads were not used until 1996. And the consumption of low fat and reduced spreads diminished after 2001, although it increased significantly.
According to the line graph, the consumption of butter peaked in 1986 with approximately 160 grams. This was not only peak of butter but also all spreads. Butter and margarine stood at the same level of consumption of them with 100 grams in 1991 and this was the peak of margarine. After that margarine remain stable for 6 years from 1991 to 1996. At the same time, Low fat and reduced spreads recorded the smallest consumption of spreads with nearly 15 grams.
In 2001, low fat and reduced spreads reached their peak at about 83 grams and stood same with margarine in this year. After that, both margarine and low fat and reduced spreads went down dramatically
