The line graphs depict how many working adults travelled to their workplace in the UK from January 2021 to April 2022, presented percentage-wise.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of people travelling to work and working from home fluctuated throughout the given period. Notably, while hybrid working was not a popular choice among people at the beginning of the period, the proportion of individuals choosing this type of work experienced an increase.
As shown in the line graphs, the period from April 2021 to October 2021 was the time span during which the percentage of people travelling to work and those choosing hybrid working showed an upward trend, accounting for approximately 56% and 17%, respectively. From October 2021 to January 2022, the interest of people in traditional working and hybrid working declined, thereby constituting 47% and 13%. In July 2022, the percentage of people travelling to work reached its peak at about 27%, while that of individuals travelling to work bottomed out at 46%.
Moreover, the proportion of people working from home decreased from 32% to 16% in October, followed by fluctuations until July 2022. In July 2022, 15% of people chose working from home.
