the maps illustrate how a coal mine has been redeveloped into tourist attraction. Overall, the working mine has undergone significant transformations, evolving from a fully industrial facilities into a recreational and tourist-oriented spot, with all the new amenities, such as cultural, and dining facilities. However, the most noticeable change is removal of two large-scale waste tips to make way for recreational facilities.
Prior to redevelopment, the site operated as an active coal. starting from the top corner, the office space and cloakroom for miners have been located, whereas behind from it is parking area. On the bottom of the map, lorry park was facilitated for transportation of coal. Centrally positioned was entrance for underground mine, which was planned for visitors, alongside a medical room. To the right, the map also featured two waste tips, which is dominated the landscape.
Since then, the working mine has remarkably transformed. The most notable change has been expended the recreational area, namely, picnic spot, playground and digger driving track, which came at the expanse of the two waste tips. Although the car park and the underground entrance have been preserved it their original position, the offices and staff changing room converted into a museum. Similarly, where medical room and lorry park stood, there are now café and souvenir market for relaxation and shopping. Notably, the footpath introduced across the building for connectivity and improve visitors experience.
