The maps illustrate the transformation of Frenton town over two decades, specifically from 1990 to 2012. Overall, the town has undergone gradual changes, transitioning from a more traditional layout that included a bank, a playing field, and other amenities to a more modern design featuring a hotel and golf course situated together, as well as a cinema, technopark, and additional flats.
Turning to the details, in 1990, there was a playing field with trees located in the northern part of the area. Opposite this, in the northwest, there was a school, and to the south was a hospital. Additionally, there was a main road named High Street, which was a single road. On the eastern side of the map, houses were located, and at the edge of High Street, there was a café and a park for leisure, as well as a library for avid readers. Lastly, below this area stood a theatre attached to a building that housed shops.
By 2012, several notable changes had occurred. The café and park were replaced by a hotel and golf course. The bank building was extended and redesigned to operate as a restaurant, while the school remained untouched throughout the two-decade period. In the far side of the school, the playing field was refurbished and repurposed to serve as public flats. Furthermore, the hospital expanded to accommodate more patients in emergencies. Overall, the remaining areas, such as the shops, have also seen some expansion.
