Between 1990 and 2012, Frenton experienced significant changes in its infrastructure and urban planning. In 1990, the town had a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of green spaces and community facilities. Key areas included a hospital, a bank, a library, a theatre, along with playing fields and a park. The residential area was concentrated in the eastern part, while shops were located along the southern side of High Street, creating a balance between residential and recreational spaces.
By 2012, the landscape of Frenton had transformed noticeably with the introduction of more modern developments. The playing fields and theatre were replaced by a hotel and golf course, reflecting a shift towards tourism and leisure. The residential area expanded significantly with the construction of several blocks of flats, replacing some of the older houses and green spaces. Additionally, the bank was replaced by a restaurant, and a technopark was introduced, indicating a focus on technological and economic growth. The addition of a supermarket further demonstrated the town’s transition towards convenience and modern retail services
