The maps illustrate how a coal mine was converted into a tourist attraction. Overall, it is evident that the coal mine witnessed significant changes, removing work areas while building more new facilities and entertaining areas for visitors.
According to the map, there used to be an office and a staff changing room in the northwest, which were demolished and replaced with a museum. it is clear that, in the middle of the map, the director board was changed into the cafe while the car parking was also redesigned as the lottery park in the southwest.
It is noticeable that the digging driving track and the picnic area were added in the eastern region where the waste tip 1 and the waste tip 2 used to be situated. The children’s play area was built in the southeast of the map. A striking point is that the parking area and the underground entrance remained unchanged.
