The two maps illustrate the evolution of the transformation of the Colwick Arts Centre between 2005 and the present. Overall, we can see that the centre has changed the existing facilities, lots of relocated buildings and additions of new structures, including outdoor exhibition, performance area, and central exhibition area.
One change that stands out is that the snack bar, which was in the top left-hand corner, but now it is demolished and replaced by two parts of meeting rooms. Also today, a new drama studio has been built right next to the meeting rooms. The two galleries was in the right, opposite the concert hall/ cinema in 2005 combined to become one and moved to the meeting room’s former location. The concert hall and cinema, which previously shared a space, have been transformed into separate and expanded areas, offering more space for each art form.
Another noticeable change is that a new cafe has been added behind the gallery, in the place that was an old toilet in 2005. Additionally, a central exhibition area has been constructed right in the heart of Colwick Arts Centre. The information desk is the only place that has not changed its location. A wasteland behind the Arts Centre is now developed. A stage and an outdoor exhibition and performance area have been built in the middle of the land, which is surrounded by a lot of trees.
So, it is clear that the Colwick Arts Centre has changed significantly since 2005.
