The pictures illustrate the development plan of Islip town in the future and show that there will be the expansion of facilities and road connections.
Currently, there is only one main road running from east to west through the town center with the two rows of shops on the either side and there are two minor roads to access the school and the park. Besides that, the area behind the shops is occupied by the housing areas.
In the future, the main road will be closed off and converted into a pedrestrain walkway and the road will become a ring road around the town. In regards to the shops, one row of shops will be the same, while the another row will be converted into a car park, a bus station as well as a new shopping center. One further change to the Islip town will be the extension of the school, but the park will be reduced in size to about a third of its previous size. In addition, the new housing areas will be constructed next to the park and in the north-east of the town with a new access road.
