The given maps illustrate the current layout of a small town named Islip and its planned future development. Overall, it can be seen that the town will be developed to accommodate people.
Looking at the current map, it is evident that there is a thoroughfare running along the map from the west and ending at the east, between lines of shops and right on the shops is countryside. To the South of the map, there is a school and park located in the southwest and southeast with housing in the middle.
Examining the future map, there will be changes in a lot of features. The main road will be renovated into a dual carriageway. To the North of the map, shops will be removed to build a bus station, a shopping centre, a car park and new housing while the line of shops opposite still remain the same, between buildings and shops is the way for pedestrians only. To the South, a part of housing, the park and school still remain the same while another part of housing will be upgraded.
