The provided maps illustrate the alterations of the art gallery’s ground floor layout from 2005 to the present day.
Generally, there has been a significant transformation in the gallery’s configuration, with various new facilities introduced, some areas repurposed and relocated, and accessibility enhancements implemented.
In 2005, the gallery featured a main hall with the entrance and the stairs on opposite ends, with a receptionist positioned near the staircase for visitor assistance. The layout also included a cafe in the farthest left side, above the gallery office and the exhibition room 4, which is adjacent to the entrance. On the right side, the three exhibition room 1, 2, 3 adjoining each other, with the exhibition room 1 near the entrance, reflecting traditional gallery functions.
In contrast, the present-day layout reflects a modernized approach with the replacement of the gallery office by a gallery shop, erected in the ground of the dismantled cafe. Exhibition Room 4 has been converted and divided into a temporary exhibition space, bordering the children’s area. Additionally, the overall number of exhibition rooms has been reduced to three, and the receptionist has been configured to a more centered position. Notably, a lift has been installed adjacent to the staircase, and a wheelchair ramp has been added to the entrance, significantly improving accessibility for all visitors.
