It is apparent that the area has been modernized extensively, seeing the introduction of the ramp for people with mobility challenges and a lift for accessibility of visitors. Another notable feature is that the recreational aspects on the left side have undergone significant renovation, in contrast with the stability of exhibition functions on the right side.
The previous layout of the art gallery highlighted exhibitions. Entrance was situated at the bottom of the map to which visitors went through a large central entrance hall. Furthermore, in the middle of the map was a receptionist, lying below a staircase on the top. On the left side, there was a top-corner cafe, a gallery office and the fourth exhibition- respectively opposite to a series of three exhibition rooms along the right-hand side.
In terms of the present design, this floor has undergone a remarkable renovation by placing commercial facilities and enhancing accessibility around the gallery. Once passing through the entrance, entrance hall and receptionist, visitors can see a notable addition of a lift next to the former staircase. Another notable feature is that the ramp has been installed, catering for better commuting among the disabled. Regardless of the stability of the right-hand facilities for exhibition purposes, the left side witnessed a fundamental shift. Especially, the cafe has been converted into a gallery shop, while gallery office has flatten to pave a way for visitors and a vending machine. The previous exhibition room has been splitted horizontally, the bottom is the children’s area and the top is a temporary exhibition.
