The given pictures illustrate the layout of the ground floor of a particular art gallery in 2015 and how it looks now.
Overall, it is evident that the section has undergone significant revamp and reconfiguration, with striking changes in the function of some areas and the development of a lift enhancing the quality of customers’ experience.
On the left side of the map, upon entering through the southern entrance, there used to be the fourth exhibition located in the southwest corner, but now it has been demolished and replaced by a children’s area and a temporary exhibition. Adjacent to these rooms, the small gallery office has been flattened, transformed into an area to purchase goods using a vending machine. Looking at the northwest corner of the map, the coffee shop used for customers’ resting has been converted into the previous gallery office.
In the central area, one can see that there is a relocation of the reception desk, moved from the center to the position closer to the entrance, enabling visitors to give enquiries more easily. In addition, the stairs located in the northern area of the gallery have witnessed a decrease in size, to make room for the new elevator on the east.
Notably, the three exhibition rooms on the right side of the section have remained unchanged over the period, to cater to the customers’ convenience.
