The given pictures illustrate the layout in 1815 and its future transformation over a period of 200 years.
It is discernible that there were considerable changes made across the area, especially the emergence of industrial zone, accommodations and community services together with the removal of forest and farm.
In the 1815 layout, there was a big forest called Dalton forest located in the west and northeast of the ford. To the right site of the map, two rows of houses stood on both sides of the main road and the Hall Farm located between two bridleways in the North of the River Dal.
Over the course of 200 years, the green area was significantly narrowed, leaving only a few small trees on either side of the ford, and made way for accommodations, hospital and industrial zone in the northern end. The farm was demolished and replaced by a resident area and new roads with an airport and hotel were built in the South and East of the area. There was also a bridge connecting two regions that lied near the River Dal.
