The image depicts the modernization of the Templeton’s seaside resort over a span of 13 years from 2000 to 2005.
Overall, from a quiet, natural and undeveloped place, this area experienced some radical changes and was refurbished with many top-notch facilities and infrastructures and thus being less green than the previous year.
According to the west of the river, from 2000 to 2005, only some houses in the southwestern corner of the map and the lake nearby remained unchanged while others were significantly altered. Due to the increase in the number of visitors traveling to seaside resorts of Templeton, there were more blocks of flat appeared not only near the lake along the river but also to the northwest of the picture, leading to the disappearance of some houses near the lake and the relocation of houses along the sea to the south which also allow to make the way for the supermarket. Notably, there was an existence of the new path to the south of the supermarket in order to make it more accessible for people to come.
On the other side, while some essential facilities such as school and hospital and parking still remained intact, there were some houses demolished and all the trees cut down to have more space for other amenities. Noticeably, the woodland as well as some resident’s homes were replaced by the factory to serve for the process of industrialization. Moreover, the railway station was widened from the southeastern corner along the coastline at which the appearance of the ferry was seen, to the southwestern one.
