The provided maps illustrate the development of the seaside resort of Templeton in a thirteen-year period from 2000 to 2013.
In 2000, the resort was a much greener area with many houses distributed over the whole land, but over the years, most of the trees were cut down and only a few were left in the north-west of the area. Also, a vast number of houses were knocked down and instead several blocks of flats were constructed to the west of the resort, some around the lake the rest along the seashore.
Furthermore, the railway was extended and covered the whole seashore. The woodland to the east of river near the railway station was cleared to make way for a factory. Additionally, an airport was built to the north-west of the school. Further developments were the establishment of a supermarket and a new road in the vicinity of blocks of flats in the south-west of the resort. Moreover, on western coast beside the railway station, a ferry sprang up.
Overall, a comparison of the two maps reveals a change from a largely rural to a mainly urban landscape.
