The presented maps illustarte changes which had occured to Stokeford town for 80 years from 1930 to 2010. Overall for the mentioned period of time the town had become more populated and less rural because the number of houses had increased significantly while farmlands had completely dissapeared from the map.
Looking more closely we can notice that there are also considrable changes in town’s infrastructure. Firstly, shops and gardens which we can see on the map from 1930 were demolished, possibly to provide land for new-built houses.
Large house on which territory there previously were gardens was reconstructed into retirement house and had two more attached buildings. Building of the primary school had not changed it’s purpose but also was enlarged with two extensions. Only building of the post office had not been modificated by 2010.
For all these years Stokeford had developed from a little village into a small town and it seems to be that it still had some place to grow up.
