The two maps show the changes of the seaside town over 20 years, achieved through a series o development. It can be noticed that Portview has seen a radical change from 1990 to 2010.
Some noticeble changes can be spotted especially in the West part of the town, where the golf course in the North West has doubled its area, and the farmland has been changed to a park area.
In the North, the resort from 1990 has been changed for 5 star hotels by 2010, while the shopping mall, just south of the resort, has developed into a shopping complex. The 1990 swimming pool has minimised its area, changging into a swimming pool area 20 years later.
In the East of Elvin Street, a car park has been added by 2010. Compared to 1990, the pier has expanded its area by 2010, dividing into two sides, the northside and the southside. Additionally, more shops have been added on the other side of Waterfront Street 20 years later, double the amount of shops there were in 1990. The cafe has also moved to the south by 2010, to allow more space.
