The maps illustrate how a seaside town, known as Portview, was transformed from 1990 to 2010.
Overall, it is evident that the town underwent significant development during the period, particularly in the area of leisure facilities.
In 1990, Elvin Street was located at the center of the town. On the western side of the street, there was a golf course and a small resort to the north, then a shopping mall and a swimming pool were built adjacent to a humongous farmland. Turning to the eastern side of the street, the waterfront street was placed near the middle part of Elvin Street, there were shops and a pier along the beach. A small café was located at the end of the main street opposite the swimming pool.
Moving on to the town in 2010, the farmland was replaced with a park area featuring trees, benches, and small waterholes. A one-building shopping center was transformed into a three-building shopping complex. The swimming pool was expanded into three swimming pools. The resort was upgraded to a 5-star hotel, accompanied by an expansion of the golf course. Additionally, a new car park was added to the north as well as a new pier, named the Southside Pier, was constructed along the sea on the south side.
