The given maps illustrate the changes that a shopping centre, called Southside, is expected to undergo in the future. Overall, the mall will develop rapidly with numerous major transformations, including the expansion of the car park, the elimination of some outdoor areas, and the emergence of new shopping options.
At present, there is a car park in the southern part of the area, which is next to the fitness centre. On the left side of the map, there is an outdoor suite, which is a combination of a golf course and a park; plenty of natural beauty is conserved there. From the west to the centre, there is a shopping mall building containing a large number of entertainment, eating, and shopping facilities. The entrance of the building is in the southwest, facing the car park. To the left of the entry gate, there is a row with a supermarket and a toilet, respectively. On the opposite side, there are a playground, noodle shops, and cinemas lining up in a row, with the department area located right between the two rows on the right side and the cafe on the left side.
In the next few years, Southside will witness a major renovation. The outside region will be removed in order to give way to the extension of the building. The car park will be enlarged, ranging from the area opposite the building’s entrance to the end of the map in the south, eliminating the fitness centre. Noticeably, inside the building, there will be a breathtaking development. Apart from the supermarket and toilet, the other facilities will experience numerous changes. An info centre will be built right on the site where the cafe is located right now. The playground and noodle shop will be replaced by a beauty salon and a shoe store, respectively. At the same time, the cinemas will be segregated into three small stores, including a cosmetic store, a gift shop, and another shoe store. On the southern side, there will be the addition of three fashion stores between the toilet and the department area. Moreover, due to the extension of the building, the department area will be enlarged to twice its initial area.
