Overall, the most significant redevelopment in the Southside mall will involve the golf course and the park; they will be knocked down and replaced with the department store.In addition,the whole area will be expanded and the main shops will be relocated.
Currently, Southside mall consists of the supermarket and toilets near the main entrance and the department store on the eastern side.Additionally, there are the cinemas in the northern corner with the noodle shop and play area next to it.Moreover, on the outer side of the mall there is a golf course that backs onto the park while behind an entrance there are the car park with a fitness centre nearby.
According to the proposal, the main difference will be development of the park and golf course into the bigger department store,which will have its own entrance.The play area will be demolished and replaced by a beauty salon.While the car park will double in size, the fitness centre will be demolished.Moreover, there will no longer be a cafe, it will be replaced with the info centre.Furthermore, the entertainment area will be converted into several retail facilities such as fashion stores, cosmetics store, a beauty salon and a shoe store.
