The diagrams depict the layout of a bookstore in 2000, as well as showing how it appears now after redevelopment.
Overall, this building has undergone a number of changes, the most striking of which is the rearrangement of the book sections and the integration of amenities. These changes make this bookstore more visitor-friendly.
In 2000, this structure was wholly devoted to reading purposes. Upon entering, one could find a section designated for travel books opposite the entrance, and to the left of it sat an area for new books. Through these two sections, visitors could approach a line of shelves holding topics such as Art, Hobbies, and Cookery. Service desks were positioned in the left corner, adjacent to the non-fiction book section, while all of the right-side area and half of the far corner were devoted to two sections of fiction books.
At present, the layout of this store has witnessed notable changes. The Travel books, new books, and service desks remain in place, in contrast to the three shelves for Art, hobbies, and cookery materials, which have been cleared to make room for three sets of tables and chairs. As a result, these topics now share the area with fiction books in the right-side section. It is also noteworthy that a cafe has been introduced in the area once occupied by non-fiction books, which is now relocated to the far right corner, replacing the fiction books.
