The line graph shows how many tourists visited Malaysia and Dubai over a 9 – year period (1995-2003). The number of tourists is given in thousands.
Overall, while Malaysia with a high number of tourists at the beginning of the period saw a decrease, Dubai with a low number of them witnessed a rise. As a result, the gap between the numbers of visitors to two countries became bigger and despite being less popular at the beginning of the period, the number of those who went to Dubai became the highest one among the shown countries.
At the start of the period the number of visitors in Dubai was around 40000 and in Malaysia around 100000 visitors. The influx of tourists in Dubai began in 1995 and throughout the time the number of tourists increased. By 1999 the amount reached 250000 and rose to 325000 by 2001. Like Dubai, Malaysia reached 325000 by 2001. So, the two countries had growth during the 6 year period(1995-2001).
After 2001 we can see that the number of visitors in Dubai decreased to 310000, but in 2003 it can be seen that the amount of people increased to 400000, while Malaysia witnessed a decrease and it’s number of tourist became 240000. At the end of the period Dubai had a bigger number of visitors.
