We can see that in all countries their is a boost in percentage of female members of parliament in European countries from 2000 to 2012. Although not all country have increased by meaningful margin.
From year 2000 to 2012 percentage of female members of parliament in UK has increased the most from mere 4% to a whopping 24%. Whereas France though it had 25% female members in year 2000 which is already more than UK in 2012, it still growed to 32% of female members in year 2012, although not a high jump but still a good progress. Germany had 33% female members in year 2000 whereas Italy had 26% but in year 2012 italy overtook germany as it had nearly 40% of female members whereas germany had only 36%. Belgium is a different story though from surface level it seems that it increased from 2000 to 2012 from 16% to 23% but in year 2008 in was 24% meaning it was increasing from 2000 to 2008 but decreasing from 2008 to 2012.
This lets as to a conclusion that overtime countries in Europe are letting more and more women participation in the parliament to make it more fair and democratic.
