Overall, men dominated in three sectors while women led in the other three. However, in wholesale and retail trade, both genders had equal representation.
Men held the highest proportions in construction and manufacturing, at approximately 65% and 85% respectively. These physically demanding sectors had significantly fewer female executives. In contrast, men accounted for lower percentages in public administration and defence (around 40%), education (about 25%), and health and social work (nearly 20%). Wholesale and retail trade showed an equal split between males and females.
Women were dominant in education (65%), health and social work (80%), and public administration and defence (60%). However, they had much lower representation in construction (10%) and manufacturing (25%), where physical strength is often required.
