The bar chart provides the number of male and female in executive roles across six professions in the UK in 2007.
Overall, men dominated in some jobs like construction and manufacturing more physically demandable job, while women were involved more in education and health jobs. Some professions had almost similar quantity of both genders.
In construction, the proportion of the men is significant,approximately 90 %, while the percentage of the women much lower than men’s, about 15 %. In manufacturing, men are also take over from women,respectively 70 %.The number of female workers only 30 % compared with male, and differences is quite noticeable.However, in wholesale and retail, both genders are almost equal, significantly 50 %.
In public administration and defence, women are lofty in number than men, 60 %,while the percentage of men only 40%.The difference is not very huge,but still clear. Furthermore, in education, women are much numerous, 70 %, than men, about 30%.
The biggest difference is in health and social work, where women are very high in number, significantly 80 %, but men are very low, only 20 %.
