Overall, the percentage of people born in city witnessed an upward trend as opposed to the downward recorded for that of town and rural areas. Furthermore, the majority of people was born in the cities.
In 1995, both the number of people born in and outside Australia in the cities accounted for the largest percentage point with approximately 50% and exactly 60%, respectively. Then, the value of people born in Australia increased to over 60%, whilst the figure for people born outside Australia shared the same trend, peaking at 80% in 2010.
Town, on the other hand, had the lowest percentage in 1995 with only 20% choose to born in Australia and also around two-fold larger than that of people born outside Australia.
