The pie charts provide information on energy generation by different type of resource in the United Kingdom in 2014 and 2018. Overall, it is evident from the chart that the proportion of coal increased, while renewables’ percentage decreased over the whole research period.
As to the detail, the figure for coal declined significantly to 18.1 percent. However, the number of renewables experienced a dramatic increase from 15 percent in 2014 to 26.2 percent in 2018, accounting for one fourths in the chart. In terms of nuclear, there was a slight fall of 0.9 percent between 2014 and 2018 but the figure for nuclear remained to the third fuel type in both years.
On the contrary, both gas and oil and other stay a same percentage (30.1, 4) over the entire research period. However, according to the pie chart, the proportion of gas recorded the first largest fuel type in both years.
