The two pie charts illustrate the outcomes from a conducted survey. While the first graph compares cultural and recreational activities in which boys take part in, the second gives information about girls’ activities.
Overall, it is clear that boys are mainly engaged in playing computer games and basketball, but extremely passive in reading. Girls, however, tend to do dancing and reading more frequently.
Results reveal that some activities among both genders are alike but the proportions differ. In terms of computer games, about 34% of boys engage with it, which is twice as high as that of girls, at 16%. Reading, on the other hand, is more preferred for girls with the figure showing 21%, whereas boys are super inactive with it, making up only 2% of total results. Listening to music has similar proportions, which stand at 10% for both genders.
The preferences of children about sports activities completely vary. Playing basketball is by far the second most popular sport among boys, at 26%, followed by soccer and skateboarding at 17% and 11% respectively. For the counterparts, dancing takes the first place with the highest figure of 27%, while netball and gymnastics make up 26% combined.
