Overall, English language represented the biggest percentage among all, while the number of people using internet was rising continuously throughout the period covered in the data.
A closer look at the pie chart reveals that 43% of internet users spoke English on it, which made it the most frequently utilised one. As for asian languages, people, who used Japanese and Chinese, constituted nearly 9% both, whereas those who used Korean accounted for only about 4,5%. regarding European languages, Spanish was used almost as frequently as German was, with their indicators amounting to over 6%. However, Italian, French, Portuguese and Dutch did not overcede the index of 4%, with other languages being used as much as Japanese was.
In terms of the table, the growth in the number of people going online was increasing without any declines. In November 1997, the figure numbered only 76 million users, which stood for just under 2% of the world population and was the smallest index in the covered years. Nevertheless, in September 1998, both the number and the fraction doubled. Having also grown in August 1999 and 2000, the number finally reached its highest at more than 500 million people in August 2001.
