The pie chart depicts the proportion of men and women arrested in the UK during a 5 year period from 2015 to 2020 while the bar chart represents the reasons why they were arrested.
Overall, throughout the period the data for males who were arrested was higher than that for females. As a result, the numbers of non-arrested females were less than that for males. Regarding to reasons of being arrested, public intoxication dominated the highest percentage both for man and women while the figure for theft was all-time low percentage.
To commence with, the percentage of men arrested reached 32% during the given period which was roughly 4 times larger than that for women. Meanwhile, the number of females who were not arrested accounted for 91% which was 23% higher than that for men.
Turning to the reason of being arrested, public intoxication took the lead at more than 30% for men and nearly 40% for women. Dink driving was the second major reason led to men arrested while the second one for women was assault. Another notable feature is that men was captured because of breaking and entering, which was at nearly 20%. Other reasons made men and women go to prison also accounted for nearly 20%.
