While the pie chart compares four types of females (single and married women with dependent or no dependent children) in poverty, the bar chart demonstrates the percentage of poverty for genders (men and women) and ages (from under 5 to 75 up) in the United States in 2008.
Overall, while the majority was observed in single women with no dependent children, the least amount of poverty belonged to female genders who were 75-up, for men who were between 45-54 in given period.
In detail, the proportion of females who were single and did not have children was more than a half in compared to married women with no dependent children equaled 8 %. At the same time, the rate of married females who had children accounted for 12%, whereas the indicator for single women with dependent children made up 26% in the United States in 2008.
With regard, both females and males who were under 5 suffered from poverty more than others (both just over than 20%). By contrast, the less poverty level for women (who were 45-54) and men (who were 75-up) amounted to less than 10%. Simultaneously, the figure for other age groups (5-17, 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 55-59, 60-64, 65-74) changed between at least 10% and approximately 15%.
