Overall, the import of sea food was mostly from Poland in the first year, and from Sweden in the final year. Notably, the value of it increased considerably over the period.
In 1987, Poland made up the largest proportion (65%), followed by Sweden and Germany, at 28% and 7% respectively. After a decade, the percentage of Sweden and Germany rose noticeably to 40% and 25%. Meanwhile, the figure for Poland declined dramatically by 30%. By 2007, there was a slight increase in the share of Sweden and Germany by just 3% and 2%, whereas that of Poland decreased to 30%.
In terms of the cost, there was a considerable increase. In 1987, the overall value of imported sea food was $7.40 million, after which it rose noticeably to $9.10 million by 1997. After ten years, it saw a remarkable growth, reaching $12.30 million.
