A glance at the graphs reveals that both South America and Central America account for the highest percentages in the total production of coffee and consumption, respectively, whereas the profit rate of coffee contributing to shippers is the largest.
Looking at the charts more closely, one can see that while South America is predominant region for coffee, at 44% of the total. This figure is 22 times as much as the rate of coffee manufactured in Oceania, which is the lowest at just 2%. Following South America, Africa accounts for the second highest percentage, at 19%, with Asia and Central America contributing 18% and 17%, respectively.
In terms of consumption, Central America leads the way with 55%, which is approximately 2 times as much as Asia, at 27%. It is also 5 times higher than South America’s consumption, and nearly 8 times higher than Japan, which records the lowest coffee consumption at 7%.
Finally, the profit rate of coffee contributes to shippers is the highest, at 55%, while explorers receive the lowest profit percentage from coffee, at 7%. Additionally, the profit from coffee that goes to sellers accounts for the second highest rate, at 27%, followed by 11% for producers.
