Overall, there was a significant decline in the proportion of young people using conventional TV and laptops…in 2009…, while an increase was seen in the figures for …tablets, flat-screen TVs, and mobile phones…… In addition, the majority of young people used conventional TV to watch television in 2009 and flat-screen TV in 2019; by contrast, the figures for people who used desktop computers and laptops remained relatively low in both years.
The percentage of people who made use of conventional TV started at 34% in 2009, after which it significantly declined to 4% in 2019. The reverse trend can be seen in the figure for those using laptops, which initially stood at 20% in 2009 before falling to fall 12% in 2019.
18% of people using desktop computers in 2009, followed by a drop to 12%. The proportion of mobile phone saw increased from 15% in 2009 to 26% in 2019. Meanwhile, the figures for people using tablets or Flat screens TVs significantly increased, rising from 5 % and 8% in 2009 to 27% and 19% respectively in 2019.
