The pie charts illustrate which type of transportation individuals used to move to their workplaces in Rockingham City between 2005 and 2015.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the proportions of the car and carpool underwent a downward trend while bicycle and work at home were rised over the period. Similarly, a large number of people mainly preferred to drive their car in both years instead of choosing to walk or bicycle.
Initially, the percentage of car users by Rockingham individuals to work accounted for the greatest percentage, making up 50% of the total, followed by carpool being the second-dominant at 25%. Despite a sharp decrease in the data for cars and carpools the next 10 years later, dropping considerably by 15% and slightly by 5%, respectively, these two means of transport still remained positions as two most favored options by Rockingham citizens.
On the contrary, contribution from bus and walking remained constant in both years at at 5% and 15%, respectively. Meanwhile, the figure for individuals who stayed at home to work grew slightly from 10% to 15% just after 10-year period. A similar pattern was recorded the number of bicycle in 2015 which was twofold higher than that in 2005, registering 5% and 10%.
