Overall, the proportion of teacher’s salaries was the most significant spending throughout the years. While expenditures on technology and facilities and maintenance increased, teacher’s salaries and other expenses decreased over the period. However, the amount of money spent on learning resources remained stable.
In 1990, the proportion of technology comprised of 5%, and it rose steadily to reach 12% in 2010. Likewise, expenditure on facilities and maintenance climbed from 15% in 1999 to 25% in 2010, gradually growing 5% of each decade.
On the other hand, the amount of money spent on teacher’s salaries in 1990 accounted for more than half of the total spending, with 55%, then went moderately went down to 45% in 2010. Spending on other sources also fell from 15% in 1990 to 8%, becoming the least amount of spending in 2010. However, learning resources stayed constant at 10% throughout the decades.
