The pie charts compare the progress in yearly expenditure in 1981,1999 and 2001.
Overall, the most proportion of total amount of scholarly spending was dominated by teachers’ salaries, whereas the other workers’ work payment was lowered gradually. The insurance level represented a consistent small share, despite a minor growth. Over the 20 year-period, the figures showed the fluctuation in various categories, particularly resources such as books and equipment.
In 1981, 40% of the finance was directed mostly to teachers’ salaries, rising notably to 50% in 1991 before decreasing to 45% in 2001. In contrast, the other workers’ salaries declined subtly from 28% in 1981, 22% in 1991 before falling dramatically to 15% in 2001.
The expenditure on educational resources such as books increased from 15% in 1981 to 20% in 1991; however, it has dropped considerably to 9% in 2001. A different pattern can be seen in furniture and equipment. After decreasing from 15% in 1981 to 5% in 1991. In 2001, this category rose sharply to 23%, becoming the second largest expense. Finally, the insurance experienced a gradual growth from 2% to 3%, then doubled to 8% over the period.
