Overall, there was an upward trend in the proportion of users using Twitter, LinkedIn, Google and Pinterest, while the reverse was true for Facebook. Notably, Facebook accounted for the largest proportion, while Pinterest was the least favorite channel throughout the period.
In 2011, it can be seen that Facebook is the most favorite social media channel, accounting for 59%. However, in 2012, there was a slightly decrease in the percentage of users using Facebook by 10% and then end with 38% in the end of the period. Although Facebook witnessed a slightly drop, it ranked the first compared to four other segments. In contrast, Twitter contributed nearly one-fifth of the entire social media platforms and continued rising until culminated with 25%, which accounted for one-fourth of the whole social media channel.
Notably, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest experienced the similar pattern. In 2011, starting from 10%, LinkedIn continued growing until reached 15%. The same development goes to Google+ and Pinterest, which ended with 14% and 8%. Despite the climb in the proportion of users using Pinterest, it contributed the least compared to four other platforms
