The pie charts illustrate the percentage of five social media platforms namely Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest between 2011 and 2013.
Overall, there was a gradual increase in all channels, except Facebook. Noticeably, Facebook was the bulk of pie over the period, while the opposite case can be seen in Pinterest.
Facebook started the period with 59%, followed by a slight drop to 49% before decreasing to 38% in the end of the period. An opposite change can be seen in Twitter, over one-fifth of the total interest in this channel in 2011. Accordingly, the year 2013 witnessed a rise of 4% in the figure for Twitter.
Regarding remaining channels, the rate of these was only 20% with the figure for LinkedIn doubling that of Google+ and Pinterest. Moreover, the proportion of LinkedIn and Pinterest went up to 15% and 8%, respectively. Noticeably, Google+ experienced the most dramatic rise of 9% in 2013.
